It's an old tradition from Shakt Sampradaya... They believe that everything is incarnation of goddess....
So all human beings, animals, birds and all the creatures in the universe are her children...
All feelings, thought and actions are also part of her...
She resides in body at different Chakras ..
Hunger as "Kshudha" ... Thirst as "Trishna"....
As the conscience she is "Parabramha".... and the same goddess creates illusion as "Maya"....
So you move from one goddess to another .... from Maya to Brahman...
And in between bow down to Lakshi, Saraswati, Parvati, Gayatri & Kundalini...
Celebrate the divinity in form of a Mother.... Happy Navaratri :)
